Your questions answered
My dad has passed away at Notthingham City hospital. His wish was to have a direct cremation. We want to honour his wishes and want his ashes returning so that we can have our own memorial. We are scattering his ashes and would like them putting in a scatter tube before he is returned to us. Is this possible?
We are sorry for your loss. Yes, this is certainly possible. We can pick dad up and bring him into our care. Once the direct cremation has been carried out we can place the ashes in a scatter tube for you – we know that this can be a difficult thing for a family to do. Obviously, we will confirm what design of scatter tube you would like to use. We can then return your dad’s ashes to Nottingham at a time that is convenient for you and your family.

About Bramcote Crematorium
Bramcote Crematorium opened in 1979 and has all the modern facilities you would expect of a contemporary crematorium. It has two chapels, the Serenity Chapel which can seat 120 attendees plus 50 standing. The smaller Reflection Chapel can accommodate 48 people seated and has additional standing space for another 20 mourners.
The chapels are light, spacious and designed in a very thoughtful way.
We held a service in the Reflection Chapel recently and loved the inclusion of the large viewing window which provides a focal point to a water feature – it really adds a sense of calm.
At the end of the service family and friends are led out to the tribute/flower display area.
Both chapels have their own waiting rooms, toilets are accessed via the waiting rooms. A list of services taking place that day can be found outside the chapels.
The Grounds
We spent some time walking around the grounds and they are very well maintained.
You can see that the staff here really care about the appearance of the gardens and have created some lovely areas in which to reflect.
You’ll find a number of benches where you can sit and take in the gardens. There are large lawned areas with trees and shrubs and even a children’s memorial garden.
The Reflection Garden is beautiful and provides a screened area with shrubs, bamboo and slate beds. If you take the time to walk around the grounds you’ll find something new at every turn.
Livestreaming and recording of services
You can arrange to have the service live-streamed, recorded on DVD or audio recorded on CD. You can also watch a recording online. Charges apply in all cases.
Visual Tribute
Photos and videos can be played on the screens in the chapels during the service, this will be an additional charge.

Bramcote Crematorium Parking
As you proceed up the driveway you will approach a fork in the road. Turn right if the funeral you’re attending is at the Reflection Chapel, take the left if you’re attending a funeral at the Serenity chapel.
The Reflection Chapel car park has approximately 55 spaces and 3 disabled spaces.
The Serenity Chapel car park has approximately 46 spaces and 4 disabled spaces.
There is an overflow car parking area which has 17 spaces.
If you’re not sure which chapel you’re going to be visiting then don’t worry, the chapels are located near each other so it doesn’t make too much difference.

Current restrictions at Bramcote Crematorium means that a maximum of only 30 mourners may occupy the Serenity Chapel and 20 mourners in the Reflection Chapel.
In March 2020 the crematorium enforced government recommended restrictions and allowed only 10 mourners who had to be immediate family. The book of remembrance was closed during this time. July saw maximum attendance levels increased to 30 in the Serenity Chapel and 17 in the Reflection Chapel.
