Your questions answered
We have elderly family members who have decided not to attend for health reasons and they live quite a distance from Gainsborough. Can we livestream a simple cremation so that they can see the service?
Yes of course. Currently Lea Fields Crematorium has halved their usual fee for livestreams from £48 to £24. We can arrange this on your behalf with the crematorium. Recordings on DVD can be purchased also.
Do you perform direct cremations in Gainsborough?
We tend to perform direct cremations in the Hull area in order to keep costs down. We return ashes promptly after the cremation has taken place for free throughout Lincolnshire, Yorkshire and Nottinghamshire.
However, if you want the direct cremation to take place at Lea Fields crematorium we are happy to do this at extra cost. Please contact us to discuss particular needs that you have.
About Lea Fields Crematorium
Lea Fields Crematorium was opened in 2020 and is run by Lindsey District Council. It is positioned on a hillside which means visitors here have the benefit of wonderful views of woodland and even Nottinghamshire.
As you would expect of such a new site the gardens are still establishing. The inclusion of a wildflower meadow is a nice thought and we look forward to seeing how it looks in the summer.
With views over the river valley it is a lovely place to spend some time in reflection and simply taking in nature.
Lea Fields Crematorium Chapel
The chapel is light, airy and very modern. It has non-fixed seating for up to 120 attendees and additional standing capacity. The catafalque is located centrally at the front of the chapel with podium for the celebrant on the right hand side (as mourners see it).
Large square glass windows mean that the chapel is incredibly light and increases the sense of space in what is already a spacious venue.
It is equipped with all the contemporary features of a modern crematorium. There’s a digital music system to facilitate any chosen service music. If required the service can be broadcast outside.
Funeral services can be broadcast online via the livestreaming facilities and also recorded if so required. Screens can show pictures or videos to make the service that much more personal.
Service Times at Lea Fields Crematorium
The funeral service slots start at half past the hour and last 45 minutes, this time can be extended at additional cost.
Car Parking at Lea Fields Crematorium
The car park has 120 spaces with additional spaces available by way of an overflow car park.
A sheltered display area can be used to look at floral tributes.
